New Moon

“SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT
ANNOUNCES TWILIGHT SEQUEL - NEW MOON”
By: Sam Steinhauser
On www.stepheniemeyer.com there is a short blog post stating that the Twilight sequel, New Moon, is being produced as a movie by Summit Entertainment. Yes, as of Nov. 22, 2008 Summit Entertainment announced that they will be producing New Moon, the much anticipated sequel to the Twilight movie. Many die-hard, or “twi-hard”, fans are jumping up and down at this news, myself included. The movie will be based on the second novel by Stephenie Meyer, of course. New Moon has been rumored to be set as a December 2009 release. After the $70 million box office hit, Twilight, the produces set a preproduction for New Moon.
Some facts about the book New Moon that fans may not know are that, the book cover has no significance to the book what-so-ever. Stephenie Meyer did not design the cover. Also, the title refers to the darkest phase of the lunar cycle, indicating that New Moon is about the darkest time of Bella's life. Although New Moon was not as highly rated as Twilight, it still managed to rise to the #1 spot on the New York Times Bestseller List for Children's Chapter Books in its second week. It remained in this spot for 11 weeks. It was on the list for a total of 30 weeks.
So if you haven’t read New Moon, and are planning to see the movie next December, I really suggest you read it soon.

“Save Midnight Sun” Website
By: Sam Steinhauser

As all dedicated fans of Twilight know, Stephenie Meyer began writing a book called “Midnight Sun”. Midnight Sun is “Twilight” in Edward’s point of view. Stephenie stopped writing Midnight Sun when, the first 13 chapters or so were illegally posted on the internet. Many readers read this part of the story. Dedicated fans of the book series and the new motion-picture, “Twilight”, are devastated that Stephanie would stop writing the book just as they are hungry for more. And thus, the website, http://www.savemidnightsun.com/, was created.
On this website, a petition of names and the vague locations of fans are posted. Supposedly this petition of roughly 18546, as of 11.25.2008, is going to convince Stephenie to continue writing Midnight Sun. Also on this site is a letter written by “Edward”. It states that he would like Stephenie to continue writing the book because she created him. Below is a copy of the letter directly from the site.
Many sites as well as this one are circulating such as, http://savemidnightsun-jaime.blogspot.com/, http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/, and of course, http://www.twilightthemovie.com/.
So if you truly are a twi-hard fan, go home, get on a computer and sign the petition! Get Stephenie Meyer to finish her novel, Midnight Sun.

My First Article

Is School Lunch Really Healthy?

Today at lunch I did a survey to see which lunch line students liked best. I asked 60 students. The results are in:

Extreme Line: 20
Side Lines: 11
Sub Line: 8
Pizza Line: 21

I also surveyed 20 students on how many days a week they pack their lunch and here is the results:

5 days: 7
3-4 days: 7
1-2 days: 6

So as you see, a lot of kids like the pizza line and almost as many enjoy the extreme line. As we know, the pizza line serves pizza and the extreme line serves a small dish like chicken nuggets or cheese stuffed pizza crusts with some form of potato or fry, usually. Fries and pizza are not healthy foods. The problem with that not being healthy is that a lot of kids like that line and if they eat it every day they will become obese. More and more of America’s teens and pre-teens are becoming obese and being diagnosed with diabetes at an early age. Kids that are diagnosed with diabetes are forced to take shots with insulin in them every day. So if our school continues to serve pizza and fries every day there could become serious problems.

In a recent interview with a former cafeteria worker we asked some groundbreaking questions. Our first question to the lunch worker was, have you ever burned yourself while working in the caf? She replied with a yes. We then asked her, do you have to pay or make your own lunch? She said no, it's free, and we make our own lunch because it is part of the job .The third question we asked was, do hair nets bother you? She gave us quite an explanation, "When I worked at Brandywine Springs, we did not wear hair nets, but baseball caps, because I have very short hair. When I worked in the Red Clay bake shop, yes, I had to wear one. It was bothersome, but you could get special made ones, that were less noticable. And the last question we asked the former lunch worker was, did you enjoy your job? And her answer was, "Yeah it was fun, hard work. You had to be fast, and do a lot of heavy lifting.

--i made some changes so if anyone wants to review my article, it's completely done now.
